SEASON 1 EPISODE 13
RUSSELL BLAKE
We chat with Russell Blake, bestselling author of the Jet series and quite a few other books as well. This one is an interview for the ages. We discuss culture, society, history, the future of mankind and, last but not least, tequila. Russell tells us how tequila delivers on every promise it makes and how William Shatner once told him to “Shut up!”. He tells us why he quit fishing and what the most important lesson to teach a child is. How is this all connected? Only one way to find out. You’ll be entertained and educated like never before. It’s that good. No, it’s better!
Special thanks to Russell for joining us this week!

RUSSELL BLAKE’S MEGA AWESOME MARGARITA RECIPE!
1 oz each of Jose Cuervo 1800 Anejo, Grand Centenario Anejo, and Herradura Reposado. First two for a combo of vanilla, hazelnut, and nutmeg notes, the latter for earthy quality.
2.5 oz Controy or Cointreau.
.5 oz Grand Marnier.
Splash of Chamborg for color and fun.
4 oz Cuervo margarita mix.
1 oz OJ.
Serve on the rocks. Drink more than two and go blind. But in a good way.
Fantastic interview – thank you.
I learnt a great deal so am very grateful and, unsurprisingly, was highly entertained.
Much food for thought, though obviously, not pork or cephalopods.
Cheers and much success to you.
Glad you enjoyed it! I could’ve chatted with Russell for days. Next time though, I’ll buy him a drink first. Haha!
I just wanted to report back here that my wife and I officially tried Russell’s “World’s Best Margarita”! It was quite a while ago, but I just remembered to report on it here.
GRADE: B+
Sorry, Russell, but that concoction is way too sweet! I’m guessing he drinks a few margaritas and so the extra sweet edge doesn’t hit him as hard. Not sure, but both my wife and I thought it was over to the top in that regard.
Now, the great news is that we’ve adjusted his recipe to tone down the sweetness and we now make what we consider to be the “World’s Best Margarita”! So, give it a try if you enjoy said beverages and be prepared to adjust to taste.
Thanks, Russell!
